It was generous of you even to click on this link. First and foremost, our preference is to reuse clothing, towels, gadgets, and furniture of our family and friends: A hand-me-down onesie’s footprint is much smaller than any organic alternative. If you browse the registry and spot an item you own that is in disuse, it would be an ideal gift, which we can return or pass on. Thank you.
If the above does not apply or satisfy, consider this. At times, we are anxious over the impending hourly diaper changes, daily regimen, and late-night feedings. But as soon as we imagine reading to our baby, it seems just great. If you have a favorite children’s book, for any age, we would love it to be part of his library. And let us know why you love it. Thank you.
If the above still does not apply or satisfy, we built a registry. Our wedding registry inspires in us only uninhibited glee, but a baby registry seems undue—No cocktail hour, open bar, nor dancing.
Personally, it seems nuts that we can do this, again, even if without All Clad and Cuisinart. Intellectually, we are wary to count our chickens before they hatch. Logistically, we have nearly maxed-out our four-hundred-and-fifty (450) square-foot apartment. Ethically, we want to limit the capital and carbon footprint of our child.
Personally, we chose to register because it is the most sensible way to do it. But that is not enough, so, as we did for our wedding, we will tithe the sum of the presents. Intellectually, we chose to register, as we need to be prepared. We cannot go from the delivery room to Babies R Us. Before the arrival, all registry items will be shipped to Yaron’s parents, who will bring the necessities on D-Day. Logistically, we chose to register, because everything we selected is foldable. Ethically, we chose to register because, as much as possible and with our eco-consultant (Liore, Yaron’s sister), we selected certain key items minded toward minimalism and sustainability. The greatest necessity, diapers, also produce the greatest amount of waste; thus we chose G-Diapers, which are entirely flushable and biodegradable, the lowest impact option. The bassinet is built of sustainable wood and made with organic material (but shipped from New Zealand). And so on. We hope you’ll find something you’ll love to share and we’ll love to have. Thank you.
